Welcome to Faith in the Future Conversations!

Welcome to the resource web site for Faith in the Future Conversations, a
probe of external future forces that are likely to have impacts on Episcopal
congregations, thinking ten years ahead.

This site offers free resources for local parishes and others who want to
ask discerning questions about the future.

This project was initiated and commissioned by the Consortium of Endowed
Episcopal Parishes (CEEP)
in the fall of 2007.

As part of the project, Institute for the Future (IFTF), an independent
nonprofit futures research group based in Palo Alto, California, created a
custom ten-year forecast of external future forces likely to affect the
practice of faith--looking ten years ahead. The forecast is an independent
outside-in perspective by IFTF; it is not a forecast by the Consortium or by
the Episcopal Church.

The IFTF forecast is a provocative look at the future, not a prediction. Our
hope is that this forecast will inspire local conversations about faith in
the future.

IFTF presented a draft of the forecast and futures guide in St. Louis at the
CEEP Annual Conference, February 21-23, 2008.

This project and this site is a work in progress. We will continue to make
resources available through this web site.
